Commercial Finance and Insurance
Domestic insurance
It’s just plain common sense to insurethe things we own,as replacing them can be very expensive. Although paying £50 for a three-year extended warranty on a £100 microwave may not be good value, other types of insurance certainly can be. Repairing even a minor bump in the car can run into thousands of pounds, and that’s without considering the inconvenience of losing the car while it’s being repaired. But even that pales into insignificance if you think about the cost of repairs to your home along with the value of its contents– would you be able to afford to rebuild it and replace everything if you suffered, say, the misfortune of a house fire?
Life is full of risks. It’s how we manage those risks and mitigate their consequences that’s important– and having adequate insurance cover is a key component. Paying the premium may be a financial burden, but we all breathe a sigh of relief when we need to use our insurance policy, either to pay for repairs or replace lost or damagedproperty.
You can insure ‘almost anything against almost everything’. Apart from the usual house and contents, vehicles, holidays and valuables insurance, our brokers can also provide cover for much more: boats and boating, caravans and caravanning, pets, horses and bloodstock and, even, extreme sports such as skydiving.Theycan also provide tailor-made insurance solutions for military personnel, providing cover for their equipment, travel, house and contents while on active duty, and accident insurance for both deployment and training.
House and contents
If you have a mortgage, you’ll be expected to have adequate buildinginsurance to ensure the building can be restored in the event of it being damaged. Inevitably, ifthis happens, the contents are also damagedor destroyed and will need to be repaired or replaced. Aside from this, you may suffer property loss as a result of theft or vandalism or you may accidentally lose or damage something yourself.
Apart from arranging adequate cover, our brokers can provide expert assistance with risk assessments and management, property appraisals, valuations and security advice.
Having adequate houseand contents insurance should give you peace of mind, allowing you to enjoy your life without worrying about the consequences of damage, loss or theft to your property.
Vehicle insurance
It’s a legal requirement to have ‘third-party’ insurance as a method of paying compensation to any innocent parties involved in an accident for which youare liable for; but it’s probably the minimum level of cover we should think about. After our home, our car is probably the most expensive thing we’ll ever own, and the risks of it being damaged on today’s roads are huge. Added to that, the complexity of modern vehicles has never been greater, something that’s reflected in the cost of repairs – so it’s good to know that, apart from the excess, you’ll be back on the road relatively inexpensively.
Apart from ‘everyday’ vehicle insurance, our brokers can arrange specialist assistance and provide cover for those wanting to insure classic or vintage cars, tailor-making the level of cover to encompass what you have, how it’s kept and the mileage driven. Policies can be arranged in many ways, for example: on an ‘agreed value’ approach,a ‘diminishing value’basis, provide automatic comprehensive cover on borrowed vehicles and, in the event of a claim, allow you to choose an appropriate repairer.
Vehicle insurance is expensive and, given the list of ‘optional extras’ we’re usually offered, it’s easy to end up paying for things we don’t really need. We, and our brokers, talk to you about what you do need, what you don’t need and make sure that you’re fully aware of what you’re getting.
The vehicle insurance our brokers arrange is designed to let you enjoy owning and using yourcar, safe in the knowledge that you are adequately insured against the risks you face on today’s roads.
Travel and holiday homes
It’s always worth insuring yourself when you go on holiday. Although you probably won’t need to use it, if something does go wrongthen being covered may save you a small fortune and a lot of hassle. Our brokers can arrange insurance for your trips abroad, either for specific dates or on an annual or multi-tripbasis.
If you have a holiday home or overseas’property, our brokers can provide house and contents cover for properties in most countries; the covertaking into account specific environmental risks, local regulations and conditions. Apart from having cover, there’s an additional benefit in that it’s so much easier to arrange it using a familiar language, currency, banking and insurance system.
Valuables
If you’ve specific valuables, antiques or collections of art you’ll want to have them adequately insured as they may be irreplaceable. Whatever it is – a family heirloom, antique furniture or a collection of movie memorabilia – if it’s something that’s either financially or sentimentally valuable, then it’s always wise to insure it.
Our brokers can arrange expert advice both in valuing what you want to insure and providing expert advice about the best way of doing so. Personal collections of fine art or similar items always present a unique requirement and bespoke policiestailored to your specific needs can be easily arranged.
Policies can include cover on an ‘agreed value’ basis, depreciation following loss or damage, worldwide ‘temporary location’ cover, ‘automatic acquisition’ cover, ‘defective title’ cover, ‘emergency evacuation’ cover and accidental damage.
Whatever you have that you treasure, our brokers can provide insurance cover so that you can continue to enjoy it without any worry.
