Newsletter 21 – Winter 2016

Issued: 16 December 2016

pdf_smallWe’ve great pleasure in publishing the Winter 2016 issue of our newsletter which we hope will help keep you up to date with financially-related matters. Read Newsletter 21 here.

It’s been a momentous year with, seemingly, never a dull moment. But turmoil and excitement can lead to nervousness in the commercial world – if ever there was a moment to ‘keep calm and carry on’, perhaps now is the time.

‘Retirement’ is a hot topic and never seems far from the headlines. Auto enrolment has been an apparent success and, as it rolls into its fifth year, can boast an impressive result: it’s pushed an additional 6.5 million people into saving into some form of pension scheme. But, with an aging population and greater life expectancy, it’s not just the Government that should be ‘thinking pension’ – all of us should be.

So, not surprisingly, the issue has several articles about retirement and pensions.

  • The results of the Financial Conduct Authority’s review into annuity sales’ practices.
  • Six pension mistakes you (really) can’t afford to make.
  • Planning for long-term care: one in four of us may need it.
  • Voluntary National Insurance Class 3A contributions: a possible gem for some.

We hope you find the newsletter interesting and that it gives you food for thought.

As always, please call if you would like more information about any of the topics mentioned, or want to just talk through your options. Remember: we’re here to help you. It’s good to talk so please call us on 020 3714 9565 for a confidential chat or ask us to call you by sending an email to admin@onefinancialsolutions.co.uk.

Christmas is coming! Please accept our best wishes to you, your family and your friends and colleagues – a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you all.
